MAKO Aquatics was established in 2020 to allow our swimmers the opportunity to compete at District, Regional and National Level as registered swimmers affiliated to Eastern Gauteng Aquatics (EGA) and Swimming South Africa (SSA).
Originally located in Sunward Park, our squad quickly expanded to include Three Rivers Vereeniging in 2023 and now Glenvista in 2024.
We are not the “same old, same old” swimming club. MAKO Aquatics does things differently. Our primary aim for the swimmer is to have fun while at the same time developing not only their swimming abilities, but also themselves and preparing them for both the highs and lows of life.
Our Coaches are experienced and continue to develop themselves to become better allowing our swimmers the opportunity to grow from the coaches’ insights.
As a “Three Squad” club, we enjoy the chance for our parents to interact and encourage them to get involved in their swimmers careers and thereby better understand what their swimmers goals are and how they as parents play a part in achieving them.
Although affiliated to EGA, MAKO Aquatics also participates in CGA and NTS galas and as from 2023 partakes in the Margate Sprints and Seagulls Galas held in Kwazulu Natal. These opportunities provide our swimmers the chance to compete against swimmers form new areas and gain new knowledge and skills along with the opportunity to make new friends.
