How It Works
The MAKO500 is a monthly fundraising initiative by MAKO Aquatics NPC, giving you the chance to win cash prizes every month while helping build the future of aquatics in our community. For just R100 a month you get one entry into the draw — and every ticket goes straight towards the MAKO Aquatics Pool Project.
Prize Structure
If fewer than 300 tickets are sold
To ensure fairness and sustainability, 50% of all ticket sales will be allocated to the monthly prize pool and distributed as follows:

Terms & Conditions
Promoter
The MAKO500 Monthly Draw is operated by MAKO Aquatics NPC (Pty) Ltd. The Society Lottery Scheme is registered with the National Lotteries Commission (NLC. 00432/03).
Eligibility
- Entrants must be 18 years or older.
- Tickets may be purchased by anyone irrespective of age, provided they have a South African bank account with a compatible bank card.
- Members may hold multiple monthly entries by purchasing additional subscriptions.
- The Directors of MAKO Aquatics and their immediate families are not permitted to participate in the competition.
Monthly Subscription
- Membership costs R100 per entry per month.
- Payment is collected via NetCash Subscription Services on a recurring model until 1 calendar month's notice is given to cancel.
- Entries are only valid once payment has been successfully received.
Monthly Draw
- The draw will take place live online on the MAKO Aquatics Facebook platform.
- Prizes will be drawn from the lowest prize to the highest prize.
- Winning tickets will only be drawn once and will not be returned to the draw container for further prize draws.
- If the same person has multiple tickets entered and another valid ticket belonging to that person is drawn, they may win multiple prizes, provided different ticket numbers are drawn.
Prize Structure
- Where fewer than 300 paid monthly entries are received: 50% of ticket sales will form the prize pool, distributed according to the published percentage structure.
- Where 300 or more paid monthly entries are received: prizes will be paid as published — 1st Prize R10,000; 2nd–6th Prize R1,000 each.
Notification of Winners
Winners will be:
- Contacted directly using their registered contact details.
- Announced on MAKO Aquatics' official social media platforms.
Prize Payment
- Prizes will be paid via EFT into a South African bank account held in the winner's name.
- All winners will be required to complete a Prize Winner Declaration form before receiving their transfer.
Cancellation
Members may cancel their monthly subscription at any time, providing 1 calendar month's notice.
Use of Funds
Funds generated through the MAKO500 are used to support:
- The MAKO Aquatics Pool Project
- Swimming development
- Athlete support programmes
- Operational costs associated with the Society Lottery
General
- MAKO Aquatics reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions where required by law or by the National Lotteries Commission.
- Participation constitutes acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
